In celebration of our 20th anniversary, World Hope International is looking back with gratitude and looking forward with hope.
World Hope International was founded in 1996 by Dr. Jo Anne Lyon who started it all in the back bedroom of her home in Missouri. Since then, WHI has entered into war-torn and poverty-stricken regions, abandoned communities and dark pockets of the world to bring glimmers of light through opportunity, dignity and hope.
Through the years, WHI has operated on the belief that lifelong change is only possible when those in need are empowered with the necessary tools to succeed and given the opportunity to invest their talent, money, time and wisdom – which is at the core of WHI programs. This is what has led WHI to become a leading-edge Christian relief and development organization, recognized by partners and governments alike as a successful service model for those in need.
Over the last two decades, WHI has helped to bring hope and lasting change to the world’s most impoverished and vulnerable people in the form of clean water and sanitation, agriculture, anti-trafficking, child sponsorship, rural and economic development and much more.
As we celebrate our 20th anniversary and look forward with hope, we are excited to continue to empower those in need, and we are more committed than ever to do so.
